Go back in the past and discover how the rich ancient Romans lived two thousand years ago. Explore Pompeii with us, the biggest UNESCO – World Heritage archaeological site in Europe, visited by more than 3 million visitors every year.
Pompeii is located at the foot of a live-sleepy volcano considered among one of the most dangerous explosive type of volcanos in the world “Mount Vesuvius”, which destroyed and covered the entire city by a rain of “lapilli” (small volcanic stones) and by ash produced during the massive - destructive volcanic eruption in the 79 AD.
Pompeii was lost for about 1700 years and has been partially excavated and brought back to light.
PROGRAM:
Pick-up from your hotel in Sorrento center (around 10:00 am) or at the nearest meeting point by minibus and departure to Pompeii.
Travelling journey from Sorrento to Pompeii is approx. 1-hour driving (according to traffic).
Our local guide will lead you for 2 hours through the archaeological site ruins, will reveal secrets, explain the roman lifestyle, customs, and traditions, and will show the beauty of this charming and interesting ancient Roman city of Pompeii.
With our tour you will have a unique opportunity and a memorable insight of splendid roman villas with wonderful frescoes, theatres, gladiator’s gymnasium, imperial forum, temples, thermal baths, the famous Abundance Street… testifying the splendor of the roman times.
Transfer back in Sorrento around 2:30 pm.
Half Day tour duration approx. 4 hours, departure 10:00 am - return 14:30 pm, depending on traffic conditions

Take relaxing walks to the “Gardens of Augustus” or “Punta Tragara” for stunning views in Capri downtown; Stop for a nice glass of prosecco wine at one of the many Gran Café bars located around the world famous international “Piazzetta Square” known as the artists square for centuries. Visit the awarded private “Villa San Michele” Museum with its beautiful botanical garden, Axel Munthe’s home is an oasis of peace, tranquility and inspiration; Take a special ride up by chairlift to the reach the top of the island “Mountain Solaro” and reach its rooftop, a stunning sky terrace for an amazing 360° view for spectacular memory pictures in Anacapri town; Stroll through alleys surrounded by fancy boutiques, jewelers, fashion designers, artisan workshops in both towns Capri/Anacapri;
Pickup from your hotel in Sorrento centre (from 7:45 am /8:00 am) by minibus or van or at the nearest meeting point advised. Meeting point at Nerano's pier with our guide and departure by boat for Capri Island via Punta Campanella, sailing alongside the Sorrento rocky coastline, Massa Lubrense, Mitigliano and Ieranto Bays to reach the charming beautiful Capri Island at 10:00 am – Marina Grande main port.
In both locations Capri and Anacapri enough FREE-TIME (around 2 hours)will be given to enjoy the main attractions as you wish in freedom.
In the afternoon at 3:45 pm enjoy a complete boat ride sailing around Capri Island lasting 1 hour, you will pass several main highlights, sites, grottos: passing the outside of the roman Blue Grotto location in Anacapri, passing by the Green Grotto, by the white grotto, the lighthouse, Marina Piccola village, Natural Arch, sailing close to the Faraglioni rocks iconic symbol of the island.
Sail back to Nerano's pier - Marina Del Cantone at 5:30 and transfer by minibus/van and drop off at your hotel or nearest meeting point by 6:15 – 6:20 pm

During your included boat ride around the island: it will not be possible to stop to visit Blue Grotto, the visit will only be possible later on - once back on the island and if you choose: “the free time option on your own” (
If you chooose “the free time option on your own”, Blue Grotto arrangements can be made indipendtly on the pier or by the assistance of our tour guide if needed, in order to speed up your ticketing and boarding process to reach Blue Grotto.
